Shaping a high-conviction public equities strategy

The Quoted Equities team is at an active stage of development, evolving from a concentrated internal portfolio toward an integrated structure combining direct investing with a carefully selected external manager programme. The person we are looking for will be motivated by three things in particular.

• First, co-managing a concentrated, high-conviction internal equity portfolio — bringing rigorous investment analysis, long-term thinking, and genuine ownership of outcomes.

• Second, actively developing and maintaining a portfolio of external managers — treating it with the same ownership and accountability as the internal book, selecting strategies with distinct return drivers, building partnerships and leveraging those relationships as a source of insight as well as returns.

• Third, contributing meaningfully beyond the asset class — sharing perspectives on markets, companies, and themes that inform the strategic and tactical thinking of the broader investment team.

This is a role for an investor who finds all three genuinely compelling.

You will function as the Head's closest investment partner and be a genuine co-decision-maker on both the direct book and the external manager programme. The team creates an environment for discussion, differing viewpoints, and shared accountability for outcomes.

An experienced investor with a long-term perspective

We are looking for an experienced investor already operating at or close to portfolio manager level. Someone who has carried meaningful responsibility for an equity portfolio or fund, whether sole or joint. The institutional context matters less than the depth of experience: buy-side, hedge fund, pension, endowment, or family office — all are relevant backgrounds. What matters most is the quality of your investment thinking and a demonstrated commitment to the craft of long-term investing.

The role combines direct portfolio management with an external manager programme. Prior manager selection experience is an advantage. More important is a genuine curiosity about how other investors think and invest — and the motivation to build deep, productive relationships with the managers we select.

On the personal side, you can identify in many of the following characteristics:

• Intellectual curiosity and continuous learning: You have a genuine appetite for learning. You actively seek out perspectives that challenge your thinking, whether from colleagues, external managers, or other sources entirely.

• A broad investment perspective: You connect developments across markets and asset classes naturally and are comfortable contributing to discussions beyond your immediate area of focus.

• Confidence combined with humility: You form strong views and are willing to defend them, but you remain genuinely open and engage with opposing perspectives with curiosity rather than resistance.

• A collaborative mindset: You enjoy working closely with colleagues, sharing knowledge generously, and understanding that in a small and close-knit organisation, individual contribution and collective culture are equally valued.

• Integrity and discretion: You operate with the highest professional and personal standards and understand the responsibilities. This is a position of significant trust and responsibility.

Work location

The role can be based at either our Billund or Copenhagen office, depending on the candidate’s preference. Regular presence at both locations will be expected.
